I began my business "Personal Coach"
in 1987. There were very few personal trainers in Seattle at that time. I had just moved back from California and it was all the rage in Hollywood.
Every star had a personal trainer. It was just a matter of time before the rest of the country would catch
on. It was a fabulous idea for a new business. I had been looking for a career change and this was it.
Exercise in some form was
always present in my life. I grew up with classic ballet training and I taught and studied belly dancing for 10
years. I started working with weights when few women did. I studied and participated in all aerobic disciplines
that I could find. I always loved the challenge of exercise and the rewards it gave me.
In 1987, certification
programs were only for group aerobic instructors (none for PT). I was certified by Seattle Sports Medicine and IDEA
(International Dance & Exercise Association). I bought equipment, advertised in the Weekly and began a new career.
I am currently certified
in personal training with ACE (American Council on Exercise) & ACSP (American College of Sports Medicine). These both are recognized as the top international
certification programs for Personal Trainers.
Because of my strong dance
background, core conditoning is essential to an overall fitness program. All my programs begin with awareness and strength
training for the body's core.
I have always trained my
clients in their homes, offices, apartments or other choice of meeting. I do not work in Health Clubs for many reasons,
but mostly I like my independence. My clients enjoy the convenience of home training and the money they save
from club fees & gas.
I love what I do.
I can't think of a business more rewarding than helping
others find their
personal best & learn to enjoy the benefits of exercise!
